Whether you want to play a game out on their ballpark or bring the youngsters along to play on the playground, you’ll find an activity that fits you. Of course, simply hiking out on their peaceful nature trails is a great day out in itself. The path runs through shady forests, perfect for keeping cool when the weather is hot outside.

 

 

4.    Fox Hill Recreation Center

Another great place for a day out, Fox Hill Recreation Center, has a network of trails running through the nearby woods. You’ll love exploring each one; there are enough to keep you coming back here. There’s also a playground with separate sections suited for kids of different ages and plenty of picnic areas for you to enjoy a meal out under the shade of a tree.

 

 

5.    Fran Uhler Natural Area

The Patuxent Wildlife Research Center runs these trails, so you can probably expect that it’s one of the best trails for admiring the wonders of the natural world. You can see local wildlife like butterflies and dragonflies on your walks here. It’s a fairly quiet, secluded area, making it the perfect place for a peaceful getaway.
