Driving on a highway is stressful enough without the rage of other drivers. Often it's easy to only focus on the vehicles around you. Still, aggressive drivers will catch your eye once in a while because of their tailgating, speeding, or otherwise risky behavior. As a responsible driver, it's essential to know how to handle yourself and others on Maryland roads. 1.    Stay Calm When you find yourself dealing with a driver who is beginning to behave aggressively toward you or other vehicles on the highway, the most critical thing you can do to protect yourself and others is to remain calm.   Road rage does not happen spontaneously; often, that person has been having many frustrating things happen throughout the day, so it is also essential to try not to take their anger personally. The calmer you can be, the easier it will be to handle the escalating situation. 2.    Do Not Honk Your Horn When another driver makes unsafe or abrupt choices with their vehicle, your instincts may make you want to use your horn. But honking your horn at an already unsafe driver can lead to an even more dangerous situation. Use your horn conservatively, as repeatedly blaring your horn may cause the driver on the receiving end to become even angrier. 3.    Allow Them to Pass You When you've come across an angry driver, a great option is to just allow them to pass you. If the driver is not fixated on you and just wants to pull ahead, let them.   This way, you will not have to continue dealing with them on the road or risk putting yourself into a potentially dangerous situation. If a driver is tailgating you or constantly switching lanes to get ahead, it's best to let them go around you since you don't know when or if that driver's behavior will escalate. 4.    Avoid Eye Contact When you let an aggressive vehicle pass you, do your best to avoid eye contact. Eye contact can often intensify the situation. Staring down the aggressor, or making obscene gestures toward them, will only lead to more frustration. Allowing them to pass by peacefully and keeping your eyes on the road will give you the best chance at removing yourself from the situation. 5.    Report Them When a dangerous driver proves to be a threat to you or those around you, reporting them to highway patrol may be your only option. A blatantly aggressive driver can pose a risk that needs to be addressed.   Often drivers are more prone to road rage in frustrating situations such as holiday traffic or general road congestion. Still, drivers behaving aggressively can appear at any time of day and on any road. Irritated drivers can quickly become dangerous drivers. This intelligent system distributes engine power to each of your four wheels with extreme precision to make sure optimal traction occurs between your wheels on or off the road. This system is perfect for heading off the beaten path or toughing it through snow and ice. 4.    Stay Safe on the Road The 2021 HR-V comes with tons of available safety features with the Honda Sensing Suite to make sure you feel confident and secure behind the wheel. A bustling cultural center in Glen Echo, Maryland, Glen Echo Park is a historic venue full of entertainment and fun things to do. Check out 5 activities you can partake in around the park. 1.    Landmarks Each facility in the park is historic in its unique way. Because it was formerly a popular DC area amusement park in the early 1900s to the 1960s, the still-standing structures being used today are a clear symbol of centuries-old entertainment.   The Bumper Car Pavilion is used as a dance hall and bandshell. The Cuddle Up (formerly a Tea Cup ride) is now used as a pavilion as well. Once an actual pool with diving platforms, a water slide, and a refreshment stand, the Crystal Pool has been restored as a historic facade and landmark in the park. Chautauqua Tower, built in 1892, is now a studio for the Artist in Residence. 2.    Denzel Carousel Denzel Carousel has been a centerpiece in the park for over 99 years. Still preserved to this day, the carousel's music can be heard throughout the park. Featuring over fifty animals, including horses, rabbits, ostriches, giraffes, deer, lions, and tigers, the carousel is a must-see experience. As it spins, the music of a Wurlitzer band organ plays - only one of 12 of these organs is known to exist today. 3.    Social Dances The park's dance halls have been open for over 120 years and offer an experience of a lifetime at one of the many social dances held here. Just about any dance style can be practiced or learned in classes: waltz, swing, salsa, and many more. The dance hall was renovated in 2003 and still gets as busy as ever. Depending on the dance, tickets range from $5-$20 to attend and are sold at the door. 4.    Events and Concerts Throughout the year, the park offers different festivals, events, concerts, balls, and dances. On Family Day, the carousel opens for the season. There are festive art shows on Labor Day, Halloween dances, an inaugural ball, and a Winter's Eve ball. Summer concerts begin Thursday nights in June and run through August in the Bumper Car Pavilion. 5.    Art Classes The Park is home to several resident artists and organizations in the area. These artists and organizations offer art classes, concerts, and exhibits. There are regularly planned open studio tours, workshops, and lectures. You can learn how to throw pottery, blow glass, shoot photography, and build puppets. 6.    Holiday Markets Because of the resident artists and community, it's no surprise that there are several holiday markets ready to showcase local talent. The Holiday Art Show & Sale is open from November to January, where you can purchase hand-crafted glass, ceramics, jewelry, photographs, paintings, and more. The Outdoor Pottery Market at the park opens in December and showcases fine pottery and ceramics, offering unique gifts for everyone on your list.   This former amusement park is nothing short of entertaining all year round. Explore the historic facility and experience the arts and culture that make Glen Echo, Maryland, unique and diverse. A compact sedan should be a great commuter vehicle. That is to say that where other vehicles exist for pulling your boat or for fording rivers, the 2022 Honda Civic has been engineered to make road trips, short or long, as effortless as possible for you and your passengers. Here are a few of the ways that the Civic makes that happen. 1.      A Pleasant Interior While the Civic is still compact enough for narrow spaces, any passengers will find the interior straightforward and roomy, with glass areas expanded and about 37 inches of legroom in the rear. A Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control System is optional, as are heated front seats and a power moonroof.   The standard 4-speaker sound system is upgraded to either an 8-speaker system or a 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated on all trims, as is a 7-inch color touchscreen that's present on all trims except the Touring, which gets a 9-inch screen. 2.      Flexible Storage The Civic has the storage space you want for a trip to the supermarket or the airport, with almost 15 cubic feet available in the trunk. If you need to transport something more atypical, you can fold down the rear seat, either as a unit or in a 60/40 split, depending on the trim. 3.      Confident Handling The Civic is equally competent while weaving through urban streets or cruising economically on the highway. The car is fuel-efficient but with power available for overtaking thanks to a 2.0L engine installed in the base trims upgraded to a 1.5L turbocharged engine in the upper trims, where the total horsepower reaches 180.   It feels easy to maneuver the 2022 Civic because it's been engineered to be nimble. The Multi-Link Rear Suspension and MacPherson Strut Front Suspension provide smooth handling when cornering, and the Continuously Variable Transmission is responsive. A clean and customizable Driver Information Interface screen shows you the digital gauges you need at a glance. 4.      Assured Style The updated look of the sedan is confident and composed, with clean lines and an assertive grille without being garish. Optionally, you can accent the look with touches like a chrome exhaust finisher and 17-inch or 18-inch wheels with gloss inserts. 5.      Impressive Standard Technology Features The new Civic comes standard with a great selection of safety and driver-assistive technologies. Some features assist with everyday tasks, such as the Auto High-Beam Headlights, but others are focused more directly on safety.   Every trim comes with the Honda Sensing Suite, which provides technologies like forwarding Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, among others, that work with the driver to help avoid risky situations.   Whether coasting down the highway or negotiating gridlock, the Honda Civic remains relaxed and capable. It is a car that manages to do its job without introducing any shortcomings. It's quick, it's economical, and it's comfortable.   There are many reasons that the Honda Civic is consistently one of the top choices among car buyers in Bowie, MD. See us at DARCARS Honda, and we can show you why the 2022 Civic is right for you.

No matter what you top your pizza with, just about everybody loves a good slice. There are plenty of places to pick up a pizza in Bowie, MD, so how can you know you're getting the best pie around? Well, look no further than our list of the best pizza joints in town. Any of these picks will properly satisfy your pizza craving: 1.    Three Brothers Italian Restaurant Whether you want it by the slice or you're looking to take home a whole pie, Three Brothers has you covered. Their plain pie stands up on its own, but they've also got some great specialties on the menu. We especially loved the Brooklyn Bridge pie, which has sliced Italian sausage links and grilled green peppers and onions. Grab a cannoli for dessert on your way out if you've got room in your belly. 2.    Moh's Some locals swear by this place, saying it's the best they've had in their whole life. After trying a slice at Moh's, you’ll be ready to come back for more. Many local Bowie residents love their Big Cheese specialty pie, which comes topped with a melted blend of feta, provolone, parmesan, and cheddar cheeses. They've got some great salads for sides to go with your pie, too. The spinach chicken Caesar salad has a wonderfully fresh taste. 3.    B.J.'s Restaurant and Brewhouse Known for their lively bar, this place also serves up some of the best pies in town. Their signature is a deep-dish style pie, but you can also get thin-crust tavern cut or even gluten-free pies. A great option is their B.J.'s Favorite specialty pie that comes jam-packed with toppings: meatballs, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, olives, onions, and seasoned tomatoes. 4.    Anthony's You've got to come to Anthony's to try the crab meat pie. Loaded with fresh crab meat, tomato, and basil, you’ll already be craving it again after your first bite. Are you feeling something a little less fishy? The chicken BBQ and bruschetta pies are also great picks. They've got great Italian food as well. Pick up an order of chicken Marsala if you're still hungry after eating your slices. 5.    Carrabba's Italian Grill Here's another local gem of an eatery. Let Carrabba's start your meal off right with an order of their calamari. It's hand-breaded to perfection and comes with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. The dish makes the perfect complement to the hot and cheesy pie you're about to enjoy. And don't forget dessert! Our recommendation goes to the ‘sogno di cioccolata,' or chocolate dream.
